- The following two labs are presented each year with the basic details as listed.
- Basic Avian Techniques - 3 hours on Sunday
evening
- Hands-on lab
- Introduction to basic techniques pertinent to avian practice
- Techniques taught change from year to year but usually include

evening

- Introduction to advanced techniques pertinent to avian practice

- Intravenous catheterization, fluid administration and bandaging
- Intraosseous catheterization, fluid administration and bandaging
- Bone marrow aspiration
- Bandaging the IO catheter
- Sinus aspirate and flushing
- Tracheal wash
- Crop lavage
- Air sac cannulation
- Obtaining blood for transfusion purposes
- Feather/skin biopsy
- Ingluviotomy or crop biopsy
